PARTS USED: Leaves and flowers
ACTIONS: Leaves: demulcent,
lung tonic, expectorant, antispasmodic. Flowers: antibacterial,
anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES: Leaves:
Colds, coughs, respiratory complaints, facilitates expectoration.
Pecific for brinchitis. Allconditions with inflammation of tracchea.
Sometimes smoked to alleviate acute respiratory inflammation. Flowers:
Oild for ear infections, bruises, and hemorroids.
COMBINATIONS: Elecampane,Mullein,
Astragalus, Licorice,Panax Ginseng as a lung tonic during change
of seasons. Combine with oils of garlic and St. Johns Wort
for ear infections.
GROWTH PATTERN: Grows in
any soil. Flowers in second year. Harvet leaves in first year and
flowers in second year
SPIRITUAL: When used in healing
amulet, strengthens the respiratory tracts angainst invasive forces.

DOSAGE: standard dosages
of tincture and infusion. Use oil as needed for ear infections.
